Nicaragua Entrance Requirements
For a stay of up to 30 days, all foreign citizens entering Nicaragua must have a passport that is valid for at least six months after the date they enter the country. In addition, travelers will need an onward/return ticket and a US$5.00 tourist card, which is obtained in the airport at the time of departure to Nicaragua. When flying out of Nicaragua, airport departure tax is US$32.00.

Citizens of the US and many other countries do not need visas to enter Nicaragua. For more information, contact the Consulate of Nicaragua, 1627 New Hampshire Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20009 (202/939-6531 or 32), or the nearest Consulate to you. In CA (213-252-1170 or 415-765-6821); FL (305-220-6900); LA (504-523-1507); NY (212-983-1981); or TX (713-272-9628).

To help us design the ideal trip for you, please include the most complete information possible in your first communication. For example:

• What are the dates of your trip? If you already have tickets, include the flight information.

• How many adults and how many children will be traveling? What are the ages of the children?

• How much are you prepared to spend?

• What kind of trip appeals to you?

• What are your three most important goals for this vacation? Is it rest, culture and history, adventure travel, or to just feel alive?

The more information you can give us the better. Are you looking for a beach vacation, physically challenging activities, a more nature lodge-oriented vacation, or a combination? To get ideas about what is available, if you have not already done so and have the time, check out the Nicaragua Connoisseur and Classic Nicaragua, two sample itineraries.
